Yes.

Fifty-one chapters.

Apparently, at some point during the planning process, I looked at myself and thought, You know what would be fun? A nice, sensible little novel.

Then Elara, Cassian, Lyra, several ancient vampires, a pile of supernatural politics, and approximately twelve looming catastrophes laughed until they nearly fell out of their chairs.

So here we are.

Chapter Nineteen.

And honestly, “Bring Me to Life” is perhaps a little too appropriate for what I am writing today.

I will not...

Today’s soundtrack is Iron West’s “Mother I Burned the Sky,” and I’m writing Chapter Ten of the next book in the Witchfire series.

Which feels... alarmingly appropriate.

There are songs that make good background music while you write.

And then there are songs that walk into the room, look at your characters, look at the disaster you’ve created for them, and say:

Yes. This is mine now.

“Mother I Burned the Sky” is very much the second kind.

By Chapter Ten, this story has moved beyond the quiet...

Today’s writing soundtrack is “Salem’s Secret” by Peter Gundry, and I honestly could not have chosen anything more fitting if I tried.

There’s something about it—the haunting strings, the sense of old magic stirring in forgotten places, that quiet feeling that something has been waiting in the dark for a very long time.

Which is perfect, because I’m currently writing Chapter Five of Book 7 of the Witchfire Series, I won't share the title because that will spoil the surprise

And the deeper I get...

There are moments when the universe hands a writer exactly the right soundtrack for what they’re working on.

Today, apparently, the universe has decided to be extremely on the nose.

I’m sitting here listening to Iron West’s “They Made Me This Way” while writing Chapter Three of Witchfire Awakened, and if there were ever a song title that belonged anywhere near Cassian Dragomir right now… well.

They made me this way.

Yeah.

That’ll do.

Because Elara has been through a lot.

And when I say a lot, I mean...
